I'll provide Some Food
I'll have some food. Can't promise what yet. Maybe Congee! Maybe smoked chicken. Maybe something Luauish
You should bring snacks and drinks.
It's the Year of the Horse in eastern cultures. Why not have something horse themed? Well, 'cause birds are awesome, and I didn't want to have to wait for the Year of the Cock. Also, Pegasuses are also awesome. And yes, it's Pegasuses, not Pegasii. Also, there are plenty of other feathered mythical things. Can you name some?
I will have 2 rounds of trivia (like the winter solstice) ready for testing your knowledge of all things ornithological. With some emphasis on Colorado birds. Or tropical birds. Or pop culture birds. Or both(*). Who's to say? I'll have prizes for 1st, 2nd, and most importantly, 3rd place, because at least two of you have superpowers.
I will have some sort of bird related participation-thing going on. I haven't worked out the details yet, but FLOCK YOU, I'm working on it. 😃 Stay tuned for details!
Fun fact: birds sing! A lot. Most of them anyway. Sometimes too much. Sometimes badly. A Ryan of some rapport will be bringing his awesome JBL speaker thing and a laptop for karaoke stuff, which we'll use for singing bird songs (or just songs). With some effort, we'll have a large singalong screen with lyrics, so you can join in from the audience if you're so inclined.
Fun fact: Birds cannot drink upside down! Except maybe flamingos. Also, kangaroos can't walk backwards. That is all. No, I'm not bringing back the pathetic half deflated kiddie pool.
Please help with food by bringing food. I may not have catering available. If I do, I'll announce something. Prepare to give your dish a bird-related name.
Also, fun fact: Birds cannot eat lava!

This year, the Summer Solstice is June 21st @ 8:25 UTC (2:25 a.m. MDT) -- but the party is on Saturday July 18th! Due to various complications, I couldn't have the party closer to the solstice, but don't worry, we'll still have PLENTY of daytime to party. Besides, June is our wettest month; July has a better chance of dryness.
I'll provide beer, you provide other drinks
Launch Pad has a great beer called Phoenix - perfect for the party! It's a smoked Helles, very refreshing and just a bit of fire (not spicy). So good! I'll try to get a sixtel of it for the beer fridge.
I invite you to bring other drinks to share. Soda, hard seltzer, juice, whatever. I'll probabl have bottled water (but the water dispenser from the fridge is just as good - fresh filter!)
On the eighteenth day of July, the Five Great Birds of Heaven fly with the wind and not against it. The Dove of Delight, the Hawk of Valor, the Eagle of Fortune, the Owl of Enduring Wisdom, and the Magpie of Surprises all turn their beaks toward tomorrow. This is said to happen when the sky itself remembers migration.
Those who gather beneath such a sky are advised to share song, welcome fellow travelers, exchange bright stories, and keep an eye open for unexpected opportunities concealed among the feathers. For when the Cosmic Flock is in forward flight, even the smallest sparrow may discover itself carried farther than it ever imagined.
